I'm perfectly happy with my P-255, and just didn't want to pass on my friend's CVP if it was going to be both ultra-cheap and better for my needs.

I think the only reason to change would be if you were going to use all the arranger functions and extra non-piano tones that the CVP offers, or if the more furniture-like construction appeals to you. I have a V-Piano, which was ВЈ5k when new and I paid just over ВЈ1k (and it's incredible).

If you're not adverse to using a stage piano without built-in speakers, there are some excellent deals to be had with slightly older pro pianos like Nords, and the Roland RD series. If you're not satisfied with your P255, and need it purely for playing piano, you could look into the Roland FP series, or a newer Yamaha.

I believe itвЂ™s about seven years older than my P-255, but evidently it retailed for at least $4K when new, which is more than double the cost of the P-255. Now, thanks to the courtesy of a good friend, I have the option to come into possession of a Yamaha CVP-303 for next to nothing. I have a Yamaha P-255 electric piano in my living room that I use for daily practice and some composition.
